  • Back Again...

It's hard to believe that it has been over a week since I entered a weblog. Wow! Where does the time go? It has been busy around here. The quarter is coming to an end so that means that there are a lot of assignments, projects and tests in the next two weeks. My motto: One assignment at a time. Tomorrow I will start to work on assignments due next week.

For the Emerging Trends class I will be doing a project on the Praiseworks Corps which is located in Orange, CA. My family and I have attended the Praiseworks Corps a total of three times (two times recently and one time a year or more ago.) I think that they have an exciting ministry there. I look forward to compiling all the information together. God is working at the Praiseworks Corps.

Since I am off for Outreach Ministries this week, I am hoping to spend some extra time with my boys. This weekend we may take them to the Whale of a Day. I'm really looking forward to a relaxing weekend. The weather has been beautiful! I eat lunch with my youngest son outside and we really have a lot of fun. (He tries to talk to Nemo when we look at the ocean.)

Well, my goal for tonight was to finish up two homework assignments and to get to bed a little earlier than the past few nights. So to meet that goal, I must say good-night.

P.S. I tried to scan the Rev magazine article about LifeChurch, but being the non-techie that I am it didn't work. I guess I'll have to either ask a professional techie for help or get the article to the Trends class the old-fashioned way. (Hey, at least I know how to blog now.)

  • Happy VALENTINE's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day. Here is a special Valentine for each of you:

For God So LoVed the world,

           that He GAve

                  His onLy

                BegottEn

                        SoN

                            That whosoever

            Believeth In Him

                Should Not Perish,

But have Everlasting life. John 3:16

Now, look at all the bold letters and what do they spell?...VALENTINE. You see God has given us the best Valentine's Day gift that could ever be given and that is His Son Jesus.

If you know Jesus, celebrate His love today (and tomorrow). If you do not know Jesus, I would enjoy to introduce Him to you.

    Lots of love!

  • Caught Up...and focused

Late Sunday evening I completed the last of the two book reviews which were overdue. Praise the Lord! I'm a little sleepy today, but I am happy to be caught up. This week promises to be a busy week, but I will just simply take one step at a time.

On a different note, my family and I were able to watch some of the Suns vs. Wizards game that was on ESPN last night. The Suns won 108-107. Being from Arizona, my family and I are HUGE fans of the Phoenix Suns. We try to catch as many games as we can that are on national TV. Are you a Suns fan? What do you think of the Suns signing Shaq?

Last year the Suns had a slogan - "Eyes on the Prize". The idea was that the Suns were focused on winning the NBA Championship. Even though they did not win the NBA Championship, they did not lose sight of that goal. The same can be said of our Christian walk.

Hebrews 12:1-3 reminds us, "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."

Keep your "eyes on the Prize"!
